The Met: Logo Animation

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the Americas. This project reimagines the Met’s legacy wordmark with motion. The wordmark of the Metropolitan Museum of Art originated from Luca Pacioli’s woodcut, and was used from 1971 to 2016. At the core of this direction lies a relationship between transparency and opacity. Transparency expresses clarity, and opaqueness transmits mystique. An iconic museum like the Met requires to have both.
